The latest member of the M Family – BMW X3 M

BMW India brought in the first-ever M line high-performance variant in the mid-size Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment which is set in motion by the BMW X3 M today. It is paramount to stand-out performance characteristics represented by directly geared features in order to reach the glory of the other BMW M line-up of cars. The X3 M boasts high-performance driving dynamics and ease of operation in everyday activities simultaneously which is tagged along with the interior-exterior design with M specific features for the personality of the X3 M.

The Exterior

The X3 M holds the muscular personality of all the BMW X variants of cars accompanied by their long wheel base, short overhangs, moderately hexagonal wheel arches, crisp line and the clean-cut surface.

The X3 M also features the signature BMW kidney grille with black double bars. The front flanks are embodied with the air breathers with integrated M gills and 20-inch M light-alloy wheels are standard with the X3 M. The aerodynamic drag is further reduced the by special M designed exterior mirrors. Overall, the X3 M bit is an angrier looking and aerodynamic version of the BMW X3.

The Interior

The cockpit of the first-ever X3 M holds the signature M style cockpit design and also adds up to the luxury ambiance of the standard BMW X3. The X3 M also features electrically adjustable sports seats with memory functions as a standard for the driver.

The luxurious appeal is then excelled with Vernasca leather upholstery, ambient lighting, an M-specific instrument cluster and a restyled M selector lever. The X3 M comes with 40:20:40 split rear seats and the panoramic sunroof adds even more sense of space in the cabin. Furthermore, the luggage carrying capacity has been increased to 1,600 liters making it ideal for long trips.

Engine and Transmission

The BMW X3 M features an all-new 480hp in-line six engine with 600Nm of torque which can catapult the car from 0-100 km/h in a whopping 4.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h if you have tarmac available. The engine also features the latest M TwinPower Turbo technology update with a standout high-revving M character and track tested cooling and oil-supply systems. The high-performance engine pairs up with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic M xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

A sophisticated chassis technology is adjoined to the engine, tuned especially to attain the engine’s skill and to provide supreme dynamics. The M-specific suspension alongside its double-joint spring strut front axle five-link rear axle helps in delivering controllable on-limit handling. The chassis technology pack also boasts an M-specific steering wheel and superior M compound brakes.

Technology and Safety

The X3 M is packed with cutting edge BMW safety technologies like front, side and head airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) integrated with M dynamic mode, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dry Braking function, Cruise Control with braking function in addition to Collision and Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function.

The X3 M also features Adaptive LED headlights, BMW Live Cockpit Professional and Head-up Display, High Bean Assistant and Parking Assistant as part of the standard package. The X3 M also holds a 12.3-inch Multifunctional Display touchscreen, iDrive Touch Controller, multifunctional steering wheel buttons, the voice control feature along-with optional BMW Gesture Control. BMW Virtual assistant is also standard along with wireless charging, an exquisite speaker system.

Finishings

The BMW X3 M is will be completely built unit (CBU) in India which will be available across BMW.

Pricing

The X3 M is priced at a hefty sum of INR 99,99,000 ex-showroom. BMW India has come up with a great strategy for the launch of the first-ever BMW X3 M in the Indian Market; All online bookings for the X3 M before December 31, 2020 can enjoy an exclusive hospitality experience designed by BMW Excellence Club in collaboration with Insprava luxury villas. The customers of the X3 M will also gain membership to the BMW Excellence Club- A member’s only collective.

The X3 M is the first-ever mid-size SUV to receive the M treatment from the company. The latest X3 M challenges the likes of the Mercedes AMG GLE 53 Coupe in India. However, the Mercedes already has an upper hand in its pricing which is far lower at INR 76.40 lakhs.

Now that Mercedes-Benz has started the production of the 43-series engine locally, BMW India to start making the M series in India to bring down the prices.
