Triumph India announced the launch of its latest product, the Rocket 3 GT via an innovative online Twitter launch at an introductory price of 18.40 lakhs (ex-showroom).

As the name suggests, GT is a cruiser variant of their Rocket 3R. Compared to the Rocket 3, it costs INR 40,000 more than the Rocket 3R.

The Rocket 3 GT is propelled by the world’s biggest production engine and with the addition of the new variant, Triumph is the only premium manufacturer in Indian to have the largest BS-VI portfolio consisting of 13 motorcycles in its fleet.

The new Rocket 3 GT is equipped with the all-new 2,500cc three-cylinder motor, which offers even higher capacity and performance than its predecessor – for amazing acceleration and all-day any-gear effortless riding.

The new Rocket 3 GT engine brings an amazing increase in peak power with 167 PS @ 6,000 rpm, which is 11% upon its predecessor. With more power from a low 3,500rpm, and all the way up to a higher redline of 7,000rpm, the new Rocket 3 GT delivers a staggering level of performance.

This is the world’s biggest production motorcycle engine featuring several mass optimized performance enhancements; including a new crankcase assembly, a new lubrication system comprising dry sump and integral oil tank, and new balancer shafts – together shaving an 18kg engine weight over the previous generation.

For comfort for every rider, it offers a range of rider-adjustable ergonomics. The Rocket 3 GT offers feet-forward foot controls with three horizontal position choices (-25mm / 0mm / +25mm), and also a height-adjustable pillion backrest.

It will available in two choices of colours –

  • Silver Ice and Storm Grey with a Korosi Red pinstripe decal
  • Phantom Black

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shoeb Farooq who is Business Head, Triumph Motorcycles India Pvt Ltd said “The Rocket 3 GT is an enthusiast’s machine, being an ideal amalgamation of class defining technology, dominating road presence, astounding performance, and ergonomics. It is a legend in itself. It completes the Rocket range which has the roadster and touring variants. With this, we also strengthen our BS-VI offering in India to 13 motorcycles which is the largest BS-VI line-up in the premium motorcycle space in India.”

Topping off the high-specification engineering innovation are the highest specification Brembo Stylema calipers which are fitted to the new motorcycle. In addition, this new design allows increased airflow around the brake pads which helps the calipers cool quicker for even better performance.

The front disc is 320mm whereas the rear disc is 300mm.
