Our homegrown Utility Vehicle (UV) maker, Mahindra which is known for its UVs launched their pitch in the people-mover segment in 2018 with the Marazzo MPV that left everyone impressed. It was launched in India in September 2018 and at that time, it was considered as the Best Mahindra car ever in terms of quality, refinement, and space offered.
Mahindra has finally launched the Marazzo BS6 and its prices are officially out. The price of the new 2020 Mahindra Marazzo BS6 starts at Rs. 11.25 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. The new BS6 Marazzo is affordable than the outgoing BS4 model.
So, it gets the same 1.5-liter oil-burner but it has been mechanically updated to meet the stricter emission norms. It is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine. This diesel motor churns out 123 PS of power at 3500 RPM and 300 Nm of torque between 1750-2500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only. We were expecting the Marazzo BS6 to get a torque converter automatic transmission too coupled with the oil-burner. However, it seems that the diesel AT and the petrol mill for Marazzo have been reserved for the future.
Other than this mechanical update, the new Marazzo BS6 doesn’t get any cosmetic changes.
However, the variants of the MPV have been shuffled which means that the variant-wise features may also have been modified. Some of the main features of the Marazzo include a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment device with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
The new BS6-compliant Marazzo will be sold in only three variants. The new variants are – M2, M4+, and M6+. The M2 is the base model and it is expensive than the BS4 M2 by around a lakh rupees. The new M4+ variant is the mid-spec trim while the M6+ is the top of the line variant.
