Grand i10 Nios CNG | Top 05 Reasons to buy

Hyundai India has recently launched the bi-fuel version of the Grand i10 Nios CNG.

And in this post,

I will tell you why you should consider buying one if you are planning to buy any cars in this segment.

Before some time, I have published an article about the all-new Hyundai Verna.

Many of you have asked me about the Grand i10 Nios CNG after reading that post.

Top 05 reasons to buy Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG

There are 5 main reasons that you should keep in mind before coming to any conclusion.

01) Overall Performance of Grand i10 Nios CNG:

As you already know, I told this in my review video that the best thing in the car is its engine.

Yes, the 1.2-litre four-cylinder BS6 compliant engine with 69Ps power and 95Nm torque will surely give you that additional boost over the standard 1.0Ltr cars.

Moreover, these cars are available at a similar price bucked available in the Indian Market.

On that note I would also want to let you know that the Nios Petrol is more powerful with 82ps and 114Nm from the same engine.

But we can live with it as far as it is providing additional savings on fuel

And that too, while keeping the environment clean at the same time.

02) Reliable range and mileage

Let’s say if you are not willing to take your car for a long run.

Still, you will need to have a good range that helps to limit the frequency of fuel station visits.

Hence, the Nios CNG is equipped with a 60L of CNG tank and a 37L of petrol tank.

Now if we consider its APPX 20KMPL mileage, there is huge range with you after refiling the tanks to full.

Most probably if you are a college-going student, a corporate employee or a housewife, you might need this good range so that you can focus on your work rather than frequently visiting the fuel stations.

03) Features of two variants on offer with CNG.

Typically, other brands offer the CNG in either in a base variant of their cars or in the mid-spec model.

But here Hyundai knows its customers, they know that there are huge numbers of its buyers who really don’t need any other features than the standard safety kit and regular features in Grand i10 Nios CNG that is going to come handy in day-to-day usage.

For such users there is the base model available with the CNG version called ERA.

Here is a list that includes mostly all the features available in the ERA variant.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios – ERA Features

  • Dual airbags
  • ABS with EBD
  • Driver and passenger seatbelt reminder
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Engine immobilizer
  • Speed alert system
  • 14-inch steel wheels
  • Dual-tone interior
  • Manual AC
  • Front power windows
  • Front power outlet
  • Tachometer
  • Gear shift indicator

Also, the regular petrol variant comes with the below mentioned features too, and I am unsure about the CNG variant has these on offer too or not.

  • Distance to empty, average fuel consumption and instantaneous fuel consumption.

If you know, please let me know in the comments so that other readers can get useful information before buying the Grand i10 Nios CNG.

And then there is the mid spec model called Sportz which includes the following features.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios – Sportz Features

  • Dual-tone body
  • Front fog lamps
  • Rear parking camera
  • Rear defogger
  • Projector headlamps
  • 14-inch alloys with gunmetal finish
  • 15-inch diamond-cut alloys
  • Roof rails
  • Shark fin antenna
  • All black interiors
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Gloss black dash inserts
  • Chrome-finished gear lever
  • 5.3-inch part-digital multi-information display
  • 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Voice recognition
  • Arkamys premium sound system
  • Wireless charging
  • Automatic climate control with an eco coating
  • Cooled glove box

As I mentioned above, there is not much of a difference in the exteriors, interiors and features, still, there might be some variations depending on the trim you buy.

I have mentioned all the features that are available in the standard models across the line-up.

04) Grand i10 Nios CNG is the only option in its segment with CNG.

Although, there are many cars of different brands that are available with CNG bi-fuel option alteration in the Indian market, there is no other option in the segment where the Grand i10 Nios belongs.

Yes, its true.

Above all, as I told you in the beginning that this is a very fun-to-drive car with its rev-happy peppy engine that will surely give you that feel of driving something compact and something powerful at the same time.

Its not that there aren’t other cars that can land similar performance, but it’s the only car available with CNG that provides you with this thrill in this budget.

05) Comfort and convenience on offer

Yes, I mentioned the list of features but still, I would like to tell you that there is a great comfort that is being offered in the grand i10 Nios.

The driver and co-passenger seats and the rear seats offer a good comfort overall.

On top of that, there are other areas like the visibility and ease of driving along with the host of features that’s there in the car can be a good return on your investment from a car.

Also, there’s no need to mention that the standard safety package is being offered across the line-up, even the basic trim can be enough for you if you are on a limited budget.

One thing that I wish the car was offered with.

I wish Hyundai would have also provided it with an option of Automatic or AMT transmission in Grand i10 Nios CNG.

As there is a number of buyers who will ignore the company fitted CNG and end up buying the automatic transmission and then retrofit the CNG kit after buying the car from after-market.

Why I recommend you to buy a company fitted CNG over a retrofitted CNG in any cars?

Well, on this topic itself, I can write so many things but just to make sure you get my point I want to add some important points before I conclude this topic.

  • The company fitted CNG cars are tested and checked by engineers thoroughly even before building one, so that there are no serious issues left related to safety once the company handover the car to its customers.
  • In addition to that, I would also like to add that there are multiple alterations other than the CNG itself goes in manufacturing a bi-fuelled car. Suspensions are the main area that engineers work on so that there is no chance of losing the crucial stability and balance of the car.

As I said I can write a complete article on that (If you want) but right now just have a look at this video where I have explained one important factor that you might come across while buying a CNG car.

Video Explaining why you should consider the Factory fitted CNG over a retrofitted one.

I hope you got my point.

Conclusion

If you are a serious buyer, looking for a small, quick, comfortable & reliable car for your city driving needs and family usage, you should consider Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG.

Moreover, you can also buy grand i10 Nios or any other Hyundai cars from their Click-To-Buy program. especially this is very helpful if you want to finalize the car during the lockdown situation we are facing right now.

Not only that, there are a number of other trims for you on offer that can also be selected depending on your requirements.
